Harbhajan Singh
About
A player of passion, with talent to match, Harbhajan Singh is one of the most successful off-spin bowlers in the country.
He made his test & ODI debut in 1998, but was marred in controversies for his indiscipline.
However, Sourav Ganguly, India's captain during the 2000-2005 phase, was firm in his backing for getting him in the squad for the 2001 home series against Australia. Harbhajan didn't let his skipper down & took the series by storm with 32 wickets from three Tests including a hat-trick which was the first by an Indian.
In the coming years Harbhajan formed a lethal spin duo with his senior partner, Anil Kumble. Once Kumble retired, the onus was on Bhajji to carry the flag of spin bowling forward in the Indian team.
However, Harbhajan's career lost track once the IPL came into existence, but he achieved notable success in the T20 format nonetheless.
He played a crucial part in the success of the Mumbai Indians team who won the title thrice.
He also played a pivotal role in India's 2011 World Cup glory.
He is currently the part of IPL 2018 winning team - Chennai Super Kings and also hosts a show called ‘Quick Heal Bhajji Blast with CSK’ on QuPlayTV, an online platform.
